Our Mission
„SOPADAD INITIATIVE is an Initiative that takes care of the homeless children, the abandoned children. First of all, we rescue them from their state of life, then we rehabilitate them and reintegrate them to their families. We also take them back to school.“
– Pauline Odee, founder of SOPADAD
What we do
SOPADAD Initiative is a non-profit organization founded in 2007 and registered as a charitable organization in 2018. It is dedicated to the wellbeing of abandoned children in situations of poverty, illiteracy and social injustice.
A super father
The name “SOPADAD” represents our commitment as “super fathers” to providing love, care, and support to these vulnerable children. Our core mission is to bring hope to the hopeless and create an environment where these children can thrive so they can realise their potential and build a sustainable life.
We rescue
We rescue the abandoned children from their state of life, we rehabilitate them and offer them the love they have missed. Then, we reintegrate them and take them back to school. Currently, we have 36 children under our care.
We provide care
With the help of SOPADAD the children gain a home and a stable environment. SOPADAD is aiming to provide them with the financials to go to school and gives them the opportunity to create an independent life.
We educate
We are aiming at building a school to make education more accessible for the financially challenged no matter what gender they are.
Where we are
The literacy rate in Uganda is still only about 70%, for women it‘s only about half as high as for men. The consequences of the LRA conflict still affects parts of the country financially and families suffer from hunger. These challenges can break families apart.
We have partnered up with Feed the Hungry Deutschland who kindly support us in terms of our donations and give out donation certificates.
